California Telephone Access
Program
The California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) is a state-mandated program
that provides adaptive telephone equipment and related services to
California residents experiencing difficulty using a standard telephone due
to hearing, vision, mobility, speech and/or memory loss. These include, but
are not limited to, amplified telephones and signal devices; large button
telephones; remote-activated speakerphones; and photo telephones.
Equipment are provided at no cost to qualified California residents
regardless of age or income.

DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology), at the
University of Washington, serves to increase the participation of students

learning experiences such as company tours, job shadows, and internships are

Services, Inc.
Hands On Video Relay Services, Inc. (HOVRS) provides a new communication
tool that allows the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community to communicate
effectively and naturally with the hearing world through American Sign
Language (ASL). HOVRS uses the Internet to provide an audio/video link to a
qualified, certified Video Interpreter (VI) who interprets between the
visual language of ASL and the auditory language of a hearing person.

for people with disabilities who are ready and available to work. For

For the past 24 years, NBDC has played a major role in
helping businesses create accessible work conditions for employees and
accessible products and services for consumers.
Deaf Initiative in
Information Technology (NTID/RIT)
The Deaf Initiative in Information Technology, at the National Technical
Institute for the Deaf at the Rochester Institute of Technology provides
low-cost (no interpreters required), computer training workshops in sign
language for deaf and hard-of-hearing professionals. This non-profit
project, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, seeks help from BLN
participants to publicize the week-long workshops to their deaf/hh
employees. The project is willing to work with BLN members to tailor

Center (Pacific DBTAC)
Build partnerships between the disability and business communities and
promotes full and unrestricted participation in society for persons with
disabilities through education and technical assistance.
RecruitABILITY
disABLEDperson, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) public charity, tax
exempt organization has a mission to reduce the high unemployment rate
amongst Americans with disABILITIES by providing online recruitment software
known as “recruitABILITY .” A primary goal associated with this mission is
to connect Americans with any disABILITY with employers who are proactive in
hiring them. Our services are free to all who deal with employment of the
disabled. We live off of donations and grants.

For the individual with a learning or reading disability,
electronic text can be as forbidding as a six inch curb is for a wheelchair
user. Texthelp Systems is a software development company which specializes
in literacy products and website accessibility. The box products are
designed primarily for people with learning disabilities but also have high
utility value for people with low literacy levels. The web accessibility
products bring accessibility (text to speech) to online content.
Zephyr-TEC
For over a decade Zephyr-TEC has provided training, customization and
on-going technical support of speech recognition software. Our programmers
integrate speech recognition software into non-standard applications and our
group and on-line classes instruct users how to control MS Office with
speech recognition. As daily users of speech recognition software, we
instruct people with RSI how to become productive with their voice instead
